The traditional stone facade set in the scenery of the famous Dales hides a country retreat quite deserving of its “romantic” reputation. Rolling green hills, hot tubs on terraces, in-room spa treatments, and a devine restaurant.
Once inside you’ll find that the charms of the countryside may not be quite alluring enough to get out of your suite. Each individually styled to reflect the traits of a popular destination, be it a city, country or continent, the rooms are an inspired combination of luxury-chic spruced up with few antiques.
Outside the door of your love nest, you can pass time trying your hand at fishing in the two nearby rivers running through the well maintained five acre grounds, hike the Dales or visit the Wensleydale Creamery (10 minute drive).
But if the weather is keeping you indoor, relax with a drink by the roaring fire in the cozy Lounge Bar, later followed by a spot of modern British affair at the hotel’s romantic restaurant.
