The Wheatsheaf Inn is a modern spin on a traditional Cotswold coaching inn, spruced up with an eclectic designer decor spanning different centuries and their eras.

Highlights
Features
Location
  • Despite its updated appearance, you can still expect a distinctly local affair leaving the kitchen. Food is reasonably priced and quite diverse with a touch of continental influence. And you certainly won’t go thirsty here – 400 wines, traditional brews with few artisan alternatives and a handful of cocktails thrown in for a good measure.

With majority of rooms being doubles showcasing Hypnos beds and open plan bathrooms with magnificent shiny bathtubs, The Wheatsheaf is in many respects the perfect country spot for romantic souls. If you plan to spend much of your time downstairs with a drink or exploring the countryside, the ‘Good’ rooms will do just nicely but ‘Very Good’ and ‘Excellent’ bring an extra dose of romance.

    Good to Know

If you’re a light sleeper, avoid Room 5 located above the kitchen though it does have a splendid copper bathtub.

Those who don’t enjoy living out of a suitcase may wish to ask for a room with a wardrobe of chest of draws. Not all rooms have them.

  • Accommodation

14 suites – Good, Very Good and Excellent.

Top rooms – You can’t go wrong with ‘Excellent’ Rooms and from ‘Very Good’ the pick would be 6 and 10.

Prices range from £130 (Good Rooms) to £200 a night including continental breakfast.

    Eat & Drink

Committed to using seasonal and local produce, The Wheatsheaf menu changes daily and you can alway expect a few interesting dishes sitting next to the classics.

The relaxing bar is well stocked with over 400 wines, local brews, artisan beers, organic ciders and more.

    Activities

The inn offers assistance in arranging a shooting session (real or of the clay variety) as well as a spot of fishing.

    Relaxation

There is a petit spa room offering a range of beauty and body treatments as well as one to one physio and pilates sessions.

Other forms of relaxation include a small TV room, poker room, board games, cinema club, and gardens.

    Essentials

    Parking – available on site.

    Wifi – free throughout.

Room service – throughout the day.

Children – welcome and assistance provided (local babysitter, cots or extra bed at extra charge).

Pets – welcomed at £10 a night but you can’t bring more than two.
