  • Though the Peacock dates back to 1652, it was ‘only’ 200 years ago when it became a coaching inn thus established a tradition of providing a bed for the night and food for its guest.

    The today Peacock at Rowsley has taken this mission a step further with a critically acclaimed restaurant run by chef Daniel Smith and luxury accommodation consisting of 16 individual modern-meet-antique bedrooms.

    Other than being a boutique retreat in country, The Peacock at Rowsley also doubles up as a perfect base for exploring the many hills, valleys and streams of the Peak District.

    Eat & Drink

    Eating is what it’s all about here. The Wye Room is a space of locally sourced ingredients turned into a fine‑dining affair, inspired by the Mediterranean.

    In between the tradition of stone walls, open fires and dark wood furnishing you can cozy up in one of the fashionable bright chairs and the staff will keep the drinks coming until you leave.

    Activities

    Fishing is what the Peacock at Rowsley is good at, having two rivers running through its land.

    Otherwise guess get a free access to a nearby gym and golf club.
