Using the slate floors, exposed brick walls and open fire as a traditional backdrop to a decor more contemporary, the Crab & Lobster defines the modern breed of gastropubs.
Once a 16th-century inn on the West Sussex coast, the tradition of caring for weary hungry travellers continues in the much updated Crab and Lobster. Using its location wisely, fish and seafood dominates the menu but that is not to say you couldn’t find a nice cut of local beef or game.
Wash it all down with a traditional selection of pub drinks with some 17 bottles of wine served by glass so you can taste several before arriving at your firm favourite.
After a delicious meal and a drink too many, the last challenge of the day is to climb your way up to one of the 4 bedrooms. Decorated in neutral palette and simply furnished, the stress here is on your comfort so that in the morning you feel up well rested to take on the hearty breakfast.
