In Rough Luxe you may gain an impression that the room decorators may have left a tad early but the unfinished paint job is all part of the quirky design.

Location
  • The clue is in the name. Rough Luxe means a masterful blend of rough with a touch of luxury. Here, elements of fading wall paper, unfinished wall coating, and untreated wood purposely set a genius backdrop to very striking art and boutique interiors.

The first impression of shabbiness quickly disappears once you begin to notice the very carefully chosen aspects of your bedroom – the shiny copper bath tub, entreating art, well chosen antique furnishing or state of the art bathroom.

    Good to Know

The size of your room will grow with the price you pay. Be aware that only some rooms are en-suite, others will share a bathroom with another room but only if occupied by your fellow travellers.

Sumptuous breakfast is included in your deal and it is the only meal you will receive at Rough Lux.

  • Accommodation

9 rooms – 3 are en-suite and the rest share a bathroom with another room but only if occupied by your fellow travellers.

Top rooms – 1,5 and 8 are en-suite and bedroom 8 is the largest with a free-standing copper bath tub.

Prices start from £160 a night including continental breakfast.

    Eat & Drink

The hotel has no restaurant but an afternoon tea of sandwiches, scones and cakes (£30 a person) is served Monday to Saturday in the outdoor café or in the dining room.

The owner makes his liquor cabinet available on an honesty bar basis, and in addition provides tea, coffee and alcohol at any time.

    Activities

With central London on your doorstep, the hotel leaves it up to you to find your fix.

    Relaxation

There is a small spa treatment room and you can also book in-room beauty and massage treatments.
