Location
  • At a first glance you may feel like a character from a period novel but once past the doorstep of this former royal residence, you’ll soon realise that the stately grandness of Lime Wood has made space for the more current but still classic trends that subtly incorporate the modernities of this day and age.

In the public quarters the neutrally coloured walls and floors act as a backdrop for a selection of demure solid furnishing, original working fireplaces, and items of adornment that breath live into the whole scene.

The decor continues in the same spirit throughout the generously sized bedrooms, some of which feature lovely free standing tubs strategically positioned in front of the large windows.

And as for the manor’s overindulgent manner, expect to be spoilt rotten by excellent food, myriad of entertainment, stunning New Forest nature and The Herb House Spa, an extravagant oasis that offers all kinds of relaxation including an outdoor hot tub terrace.

    Good to Know

The Herb House Spa with its swimming pool and outdoor hot tub terrace is to die for and one of the reasons why visit Lime Wood as is the culinary delights by the Michelin starred Angela Harnett and Luke Holder.

  • Accommodation

29 rooms – Eaves, Cosy, Spacious, Generous, Forest and Forest Hideaway Suites spread over the Main House, The Cresent and The Coach House. There are also Forest Lodges, Cottages, and Cabins that afford more space and privacy.

Prices start from around £300 a night but expect to pay close to £500 for suites, not including breakfast (around £13.50 for Continental or £15 for full English).

    Eat & Drink

Very much relying on the resources of the surrounding countryside and forests, Angela Harnett and Luke Holder, both Michelin starred, turn out one of a kind menu served in the striking restaurant & bar.

For a pick me a cocktail, head over to Max’s Bar where Max himself skilfully prepares whatever your heart desires.

    Activities

Those in love with all things sporty will adore their day starting with a sweat at the hi-tech gym followed by a cooling swim in the indoor pool before deciding whether to explore one the running trails (either on foot or on a mountain bike), or whether to borrow a pair of wellies to keep the mud of New Forest National Park at bay.

The Herb House Spa with its myriad of treatments, pool and a hot tub terrace has already been mentioned but you can also pass time at the library filled with books and DVDs or by playing snooker or billiard.
