Location
  • Built very much with local community and surrounding nature at heart, you can expect 4 earth-conscious treetop houses linked by a curvy pathway through a deeply green rainforest overlooking the Caribbean Sea.

The wood-frame bungalows maximise your enjoyment of the mesmerising jungle with their french doors replacing almost every wall. Built in the island classic style, the interiors carry West Indian heritage with few colonial touches.

Food is rumoured to be excellent making the most of its local resources and cooked to perfection using traditional recipes and spices.

    Good to Know

There’s no sandy beach nearby but one of the paths leading through the jungle will eventually take you to a stunning blue lagoon, a great spot for cooling dip or snorkel.

  • Accommodation

4 treetop house – Upper Deck, Spanish Elm, Almond Tree, and Sweet Wood.

Top rooms – Almond Tree for the hand-carved four-poster and the spacious Spanish Elm for its wraparound deck.

Prices start from £340 a night including all meals, snacks, some alcoholic drinks and a fridge stocked with soft drinks, wine, crackers, cheese and Blue Mountain coffee.

    Eat & Drink

Eating at Kanopi House is a very sociable Jamaican affair, served in the communal treehouse. The set menu changes daily, featuring catch of the day and organic produce from the resort’s own mountain garden.

Instead of a bar there is a Living Room where to enjoy any of the premium lagers, fine wine, and spirits, smooth Jamaican rums.

    Activities

Take a walk through the jungle on your doorstep or follow the path down to the Blue Lagoon, the hotel’s alternative to a swimming pool.

In addition the resort can arrange off-site experiences such as sailing, river rafting, mountain biking, and much more.

    Relaxation

Kick back in the gardens or something entertaining from the DVD/book library.
